My daughter turns one and the 8th of September, and is already starting to say her first words. Of course there’s “mama” and “dada”, but one other word has caught my ears; “num-num” “Num-num”, to my daughter, means anything food related. It could be bananas, Teddy Grams, her sippy cup, or her bottle. She knows what she wants and will point and say “num-num” until she gets it.
Another word that she will say is “hi”. It is particularly funny when you answer your cell phone in front of her. She will put her hand to her ear, tilt her head to the side, and say “hi.” She is so cute.
I think I heard “yummy” once, but I think that was just wishful thinking.
As she grows older she will learn her language and mannerisms from my husband and I, and I hope we don’t let her (or her future teachers) down.
